Wil’s Winter is the second book in a series that started with Red Summer. Red Summer’s review can be found HERE. This review will have some spoilers due to the fact that it is the second in the series, so if you have not read the first one, either ignore or continue reading.Wil’s Winter continues the story of Rita following the battle between Thomas, Rita, Nik, Ingrid, Wil, Jason, and Bobby. The four siblings travelled to a small town in Nevada to hopefully rest and stay hidden in the even [...]

I was excited to receive the second book in this series in exchange for an honest review. In the first book we learned that the characters all have special abilities as we weave through their teenage years. With a unique theme and definitive character development, Houston leaves the reader wondering what became of this group of friends. In Wil’s Winter, we find out. Traveling five years down the road, we find these memorable characters as adults. Taking a chance on a normal life, they are long [...]

First off I absolutely love the cover, its gorgeous! After running for 2 yrs Nikki, Ingrid, Will and Rita have settled down in the tiny town of Horsenose. They mostly have a good life. Nikki and Ingrid are married and expecting twins but Will and Rita fight a lot, especially when it comes to Sy, who is in love with Rita. Although it's a small place they were able to secure jobs and have a pleasant home. But the town doesn't turn out to be quite the safe haven they thought.Bobby is still hunting f [...]

Not much to say about this one, other than it was a slog. I liked the first book, this one started off by introducing a lot of different characters, (some with similar names, Syd, Silas, and Sera? ) who were hard to keep track of. The first half was rough, I honestly didn't care about any of the emotional drama the two main characters were going through. The infidelity wasn't attractive either. The second half was better, but then the ending wasn't satisfying as well. I just didn't have as much [...]

3.5 StarsIm sorry to say, that as with the first book, this was just not the story for me. It is not a genre i generally read. However, the author did a great job with the book and the characters are written very very well and thorough. The book does not lack at all and my views on the genre in no way reflect on the authors capability of telling a fabulous story. The story basically continues and relationships hit stormy sea's while powers evolve, characters mature and we find more and more surpr [...]

I love my book, so yep I give it 5 stars! I enjoyed the attitude of my colorful characters, their varied reactions, the action and drama and the abuse of fantastic abilities! It's a work of art. But it can always be improved. I await your honest - creative - and tasteful suggestions!
