I knew this was going to be a fantastic end to a great series, and I was right. I was so excited for this book to come out. Books like these are why I love middle grade. Abby, Derrick, and their friends are amazing and Carol still makes me smile. After receiving some news about Derrick, the twins and their friends are faced with another impossible task, to win the school's race to save all the secrets they hold dear. I love how they have to really think their way out of situations and rely on ea [...]

This is a book and series that I could go on and on (and on) about, but what it boils down to is this: It's fantastic!! What a fabulous way to end this series! I don't want to say too much, either, because it is a series that needs to be experienced to truly appreciate it.Abby and Derick are shocked to learn that their grandfather's secret is the award for the winner of the annual race. They form a team so they can hopefully win and keep the secret from getting into the wrong hands or becoming c [...]

Author, has problem with the fact that the basis of his plot is a time machine. The plans are TOO complicated and round-about, and overlook the fact that there is a time machine! These, "brilliant" kids are reasonably smart but not clever or really all that gifted, as they overlook the basic solutions to problems, without even violating their own ethics (about changing the past), using the TIME MACHINE.Half of the plot and problems don't need to happen, if they really thought through their probl [...]

When they return from saving her they use the chair to see what she knows. After the interrogation Derrick gets back to his dorm, and finds a metal object that looks like Saturn in his room. The amazing raceBy Logan DeMille I liked this book because of all the charter growth and the action that was in the book and all the cool elements like, robot monkeys and time travel. If you think this book sounds good though you should try watching the movie I ROBOT based on robots taking over. One of my favorite parts is when they find out that the time machine can go to a in between of the past, future and present where you can spend all the time you want and not wast a minute in the real worl [...]

The Impossible Race. The best book of the series. More fun and action packed than the other two. Way better story, and there is a twist Will Abby and Derick win the race, or will all be lost in this epic adventure of saving the world? This book is awesome the best book of the series. I recommend to anyone with a adventurous heart and soul. one of the best book series I have ever read, I wish he made more of them.

Time travel books can't help but end up with plot holes. Most of us love time travel books in spite of all the issues messing with time can cause for an author and a plot. Up through the end of the second book, the protagonists have been kept in check by the butterfly effect theory. Any changes of the past could adversely affect the present.Chad Morris unfortunately got rid of this moral check at the very end of book 2 by introducing the ability to modify the present. Technically the past could [...]

The Impossible Race is the final book in Chad Morris’ Cragbridge Hall trilogy. When I was approached about reviewing this book, I’ll admit I hadn’t read the first two books yet. I remedied that situation and was super excited to discover another great series for kids. These books follow twins Abby and Derick through their first wild year at Cragbridge Hall, the school their grandfather founded. While Derick is a genius and fits right into this elite academy, Abby has always struggled in sch [...]

While I found The Impossible Race to be an interesting book-I did find myself confused at times as I had not realized it was the third book and hadn't read the previous two books. It is a race that is worth running, and I couldn't stop turning the pages. I honestly didn't expect what happened at the end. I couldn't see how the kids were going to come out on top, but they did and the ending was very fitting. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a great adventure. ARC-Edelweiss

5 STARS I really this adventure series. It is a fun dangerous adventure in a school of smart kids. Everyone of the kids but one are super smart. Abby is just normal smart her twin brother is way smart. There Grandfather created Cragbridge Hall and he made exception for Abby. Abby does not give up, she runs fast, cares about others and risks her life to save everyone. Derick Cragbridge is a twin. Abby, Derick and two of their friends, Rafa and Carol have learned some of their Grandfather's secret [...]

The first two books in this series were very exciting! This third book continues that theme. I have always loved the concept of this school for gifted children in the future(2074) where they interact with characters from history, use real-like avatars/robots that the kids manipulate through sophisticated technology where they become the animal(like in a computer game but much cooler) and where they can sit in a chair and read out loud literature and the rest of the class can see projected how th [...]

My boys (13 and 11) and I loved the first two books in this series, and have been counting down the days until this one came out. It's finally here, and it did not disappoint! It is the perfect ending (Does it really have to end?) to such a fun series. I love the characters in this book. Abby, Derick, Carol, and Rafa continue in this story, and there are some great new characters as well. I love Abby's attitude, and I love that she never gives up. She grows a lot in this book, which is good to s [...]

In the book The Impossible Race, by Chad Morris, Abby and Derrick have to try to defeat Muns again for what they are hoping to be the last time. It has come time for the annual race that the school does. In this race, there are many teams that participate in really hard and challenging competitions to the very end. Each round, half of the teams are out and the remaining half go on to the next challenge. Every year there is a prize that is won when they are completely finished. Although, the priz [...]

I highly recommend the book to anyone who likes fantasy, school-based books, highly intelligent students, incredible inventions, or well-placed humor. Here are how some of the characters improve in this book. *sigh* I wish there was more to the series. Chad Morris, I'm talking to you.Abby: Abby no longer struggles with fitting in. This is one of the best books out there in YA sci-fi. The author is Chad Morris, who wrote the entire Crag Bridge Hall series including the Impossible Race. He has a very captivating writing style that kept me intrigued the whole way through. The story is very interesting and a new idea. I like the fact it really is a Race the characters have to win not just for glory but for their wellbeing. If I had to chose a favorite character it would be Carol who is extremely fast, crazy, and funny. Althou [...]

My niece and I loved this series and especially this concluding book to this fun series. Chad Morris really captured his characters and really developed them. The characters grew from book one to book three and each grew and learned from their struggles. It was a great talking piece with the niece to help her see the worth of herself as Abby was top notch character at helping her understand her own feelings. Compared to the first two books, I didn't enjoy The Impossible Race as much. It felt like I've heard the story before - Harry Potter's Goblet of Fire perhaps? The Race is a school-wide trial involving all the disciplines we've learned about in the first two books: avatars, virtual worlds, robotics, bridge research, and good-old-fashioned intelligence and ingenuity. The stakes are always high at a super-achiever academy like Cragbridge Hall, but this year, someone has hacked the games and risks e [...]

I have no idea why this series hasn't gotten more publicity or acclaim; it contains all of the elements necessary for a fantastic middle grade read! The characters are realistic, the mysteries well-concealed, the plot action-packed; throw that in with budding romance, moral-building, science fiction avatars, and legends from history and literature, The Impossible Race (and the other Cragbride Hall books) is a novel that any young reader will love. I was lucky enough to get to read it in advance! From falcons to rhinos, Beowulf to robotics, Nathan Hale to Joan of Arc- this book has it all. It is all masterfully woven into a futuristic story of determination, and friendship. The story is full of action, twists and turns. The author really 'gets' the Jr. High age characters and their insecurities, relationships, and quirks. I LOVE the life lessons that are woven into the story; having confidence in yourself despite others opinions, good frie [...]
