This is probably the end of my first love affair with Ranma ½. I’ll be back, because the characters are delightful and Takahashi is brilliant at creating nonsensical problems for them, including the manic cat phobia that she invents for Ranma in this volume. It’s largely a cute volume, first with a loser voodoo practitioner trying to manipulate his fear of cats, and later an ancient trapping him in his female form. Both of these set up zany antics, and subtly showing Ranma and Akane relyin [...]

Bahaha!! Oh, poor Ranma! But he's so adorable as a girl!!I still love Shampoo!! She's so cute! I think I'm gonna be a Ranma/Shampoo shipper. I mean, I'm not an idiot, I know in the end Akane and Ranma will be together because they so obviously like each other so much, but I'd rather see Ranma with Shampoo! They'd be so cute!!The old lady cracks me up!! I love that she looks like a squid. Oh man, this series is hilarious!

While the theme of "we must fight, and the winner gets the boy/girl" is becoming a bit tedious, I think that contributes to the overall silliness of this series and it's really enjoyable.

*2.5 Stars*My Review Volume OneMy Review Volume TwoMy Review Volume Three*WARNING: Because of the occasional female nudity (and male though they always have carefully placed legs), this is not really for younger manga readers. *The Gush*The 1st part of the volume is a bit different. Here we discover Ranma's one weaknessd that Genma should have never had a child. Personally, I don't find phobias funny, nor people's extreme reactions when confronted with them (however, seeing Kuno tell the scared, [...]

25 January 2013Creepy stalker, Hikaru Gosunkugi, and pervy Tatewaki Kuno are on a mission in Ranma ½, Volume 4 to discover Ranma's weak spot. When his weakness is discovered to be a result of bad parenting and trainings gone awry, poor Ranma goes through an adorable transformation in order to claw his way to safety.Shampoo returns and she's being cattier than ever. She brings her great-grandmother to help force her groom into submission. Ranma is in big trouble when the old ghoul uses the Full- [...]

Another instalment of insanity! A jealous classmate tries to find Ranma's weakness and finds out its cats. He tries to defeat Ranma using over complicated cunning plots. Kuno gets in on the act desperate for a date with his beloved pig-tailed girl (female Ranma)Shampoo returns after training in china and now transforms into a cat. She brings along her insane grandma who curses Ranma with the full body cat tongue - making him so sensitive even tepid water feels scalding. The upshot - he is stuck [...]

I did not like this volume very much. Shampoo, Cologne and Mousse are introduced to us. But I don't particularly like those characters. Like I have written before, I do not really like the martial arts in the manga. I prefer the tension between Akane and Ranma whether it be anger or chemistry. Sadly the romance is rather sporadic and the action rather soporific as it goes in this volume. The volume starts with Akane's stalker who has been taking pictures of her and has a vendetta against Ranma fo [...]

I read this volume about two days ago and I loved it.I learned something new about characters, for example that Shampoo is changing into a cat when she's splashed with cold water. Also, in this volume there are some new characters, like chinese martial artist Mousse or Shampoo's grand-grandmother. I was really surprised that Ranma has a weak spot, and that it's fear of cats. My favorite part was whe Ranma lost his mind and became a cat. Also, I really like part when he's fighting Mousse.I think t [...]

This was amazing :3 I don't remember if we met Shampoo in the last volume (it's been awhile since I've read this series), but it was nice to see her again! And Mousse! I've always found Mousse hilarious :DI love how Ranma is afraid of CATS, of all things ^_^ HE IS SO ADORABLE WHEN HE'S ACTING LIKE A CAT. Seriously. Cute overload :D I loved his little kiss for Akane :3Ranma 1/2 may be a pretty old series, but I will never get tired of it. It is one of the first anime series I ever watched, and on [...]

A fear of cats via torturous training method. Poor Ranma, he really can't catch a break. And of course there is Shampoo and her grandmother, really how many girls will be chasing after Ranma, will it be even more than the number of guys chasing after Akane? And even worse for Ranma, he can't even escape teenage hormones when he is a girl, he has guys chasing after him then too. A very entertaining read :)

I found this to be one of the weaker books in the series. The last section was a bit hard to follow, and the "plot" didn't grab my attention as much (none of the Ranma stories so far have really demanded a great deal of thought :-) But that's OK, as they are so funny). Still, I really liked the first section, as it introduces an amusingly unstable classmate (one of my favorites!) and we get to learn about Ranma's secret fear (which becomes more important later on.)

    14. Kirsten Rodning on said:

I liked this volume less than the first three. All I can really say is that the storyline is just getting more painful. Once again, the characters are all being forced to almost marry various different characters and must perform crazy antics in order to either get out of the betrothment or into it.

They say you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. But I did - And I was right ;) This series is amazing! You get genderbender, fantasy, action, romance and slapstick-humor along with intense serious moments, what more can you want?

God these are horrible, they are fun for like ten seconds, but the books are so formulaic that they put me right to sleep, and I could not read any more volumes of this stuff, it was a mistake to grab these at the library booksale.

Review by K.K.: "Really, everyone would like Ranma 1/2. Well I think it was real funny when Akane lost her memory cause of Shampoo's shampoo."

Ranma 1/2 is a great series! It's so funny and sweet. There's romance, action, and comedy all in abundance! I think should appeal to a wide audience.

A new adventure for Ranama. This girl is no push over, Shampoo is under strict rules to kill any stranger that is the same sex that defeats her. What is poor Ranma to do. A must read manga

Fun story of the arrival of Shampoo's grandmother, Cologne and how it affects Ranma and company.

    23. David on said:

again it's very repetitive. Ranma needs to defeat blah blah blah. Akane blah blah blah. But there's less P-chan and a lot more cats.

These books/manga started out creative and funny, and went downhill from there.
