This was about a 3/3.5 for me. Ive been a fan of this author for some time. I was hoping for the usual angst but this book lacked it. Noa meets rock star Alden at one of his concerts. She plays the whole I hate you and I'm not paying any attention to you card. While he plays the oh a girl hates me so I have to chase her card. Obviously they do the lets just be friends but it never stays that way does it? Noa had been in a bad relationship. That storyline fell flat for me. How it was played out. [...]

5 Smoking Hot and Funny Stars!Noa is dragged to a Friction concert because her best friend begged her to go. Noa hates the lead singer that is up on stage doing pelvic thrusts. Hell she doesn't even like this band at all. He just seemed so damn cocky. Cocky grin, cocky flirting, cocky thrusting – when the hell was this c**k fest going to be over? -NoaAlden is up on stage and sees Noa and doesn't understand why this beautiful woman is not falling at his feet like all the rest of the women. She [...]

Not as angsty as her other books, but still totally worth the read. Sexual tension, banter, love-hate relationship, hot sexy times and enough angst to keep me hooked. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the ending felt rushed. Drama at 96% should've started at 85% and been drawn out more. I like lengthy heart ache and I <3 Alden and his monster sea serpent, too!

I was caught by surprise with this one. I have written on nearly every review of the books I have read by her, that L.D. Davis is the queen of angst. (Or something similar.) She can certainly leave a lump in your throat and a gaping hole where your heart used to be. She has an uncanny ability to make you feel what her characters feel. But I didn’t feel the angst with this book. Was that a bad thing? Not necessarily, it just wasn’t what I had come to expect. Also, while her other books have s [...]

5 stars!!! I loved this book! First, I have to say that I've never read a book by this author so I did some research on the book to see what others thought. Most loved it but some were annoyed with the heroine. Funny thing about reviews (even though I enjoy writing them and reading them) everyone really doesn't read the same book. I was expecting to find the heroine annoying too but I didn't and I'm glad I didn't. I actually really related to her and totally got why she came off the way she did. [...]

BrilliantWhen Noa gets dragged along to a concert to a band she doesn't even like the arrogant pelvic thrusting singer who has women thowing themselves at him just tops the night off with her patients and tolerance reaches her limit. So just when she thinks its finally over they returned with an encore, she has to endure three more songs from the pelvic thrusting cock asshole she thinks he is and Noa is more than irritated. Its not Noa's hair, eyes or body that catches Aldens attention from the sta [...]

"Baby, let me take care of you. Let me make it all better. Tell me where it hurts and I’ll fix itI’ll fix you." I didn't enjoy this book as much as I expected I would. There were redeeming moments, but most of the time, the story fell flat to me. Full review to come. 2 stars!

Oh this book. It started out well enough. Noa and her girlfriend are front row at a Friction concert. While most of the girls are screaming for lead singer, Alden, Noa is unimpressed with his cocky performance. Unimpressed turns into seriously perturbed when she's injured in a fangirl stampede to touch Alden when he hops off the stage to show the fans his pelvic thrusts.Alden is immediately smitten with Noa and her bitchy attitude. At first I thought it was rather amusing but it got old. Alden f [...]

I am a big fan of the author and even though this book is somewhat different from her previous works; she still brought her A-game.This is Alden and Noa's story, two very talented people; he a musician, she a writer. When Noa met Alden at his concert she attended with her best friend, she was not impressed. After being nearly trampled to death by his screaming fans; he made it his duty to take care of her.I love the character development and dialogue, Noa's caustic, sarcastic tongue and Alden's [...]

***Listened to the Audiobook***I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't heavy with emotional stuff, it wasn't filled with angst and it wasn't the normal "guy who is afraid to go after what he wants". I needed that very nice change! Noa is a very sassy strong girl with amazing will power (lol) who has no intentions of letting another guy control her or hurt her. Alden is a rock god with a huge heart and a lot of patience! I loved these two together! The banter between these two was fun and the sex H [...]

Five Friction Stars!!! Why did I wait so long to read this book???? To be quite honest, this book got lost among all my unread books on my Kindle. I finally sorted my unread books by author and BAM!!! An LD Davis book that I haven't read?? How can this be?? I love the writing style of LD Davis. Her characters are raw and real -- not painted perfectly on a canvas. They are colorful with some angst and sometimes a lot of hurtful feelings expressed. In the end-- good, bad, painful and joyous passio [...]

I had a hard time deciding on whether to rate this book as 2 or 3 stars. I finally decided on 1 star because even though this book wasn’t horrible and I enjoyed parts of it I found more wrong with this book than I found right. Mild spoilersThe female MC: She was needlessly mean and bitchy. Alright so she (view spoiler)[was dragged to a concert she didn’t want to be at and yes she was trampled by crazed fans but he did save her and took care of her, would a simple thank you have been too much [...]

4.5 starsWhat do you get when two opposite people set own relative ways rub together with such resistance? Friction. As we learned in school its a bunch of physics but in this case a rock star and a writer butt heads so much. I wasnt expecting this set up and the meet cute was different as well, such strong personalities too. Ive always liked LD Davis and that made me charmed by the way this one went. Alden Breck maybe be an ass, a self admitted one, cocky, but no denying the talent. He maybe di [...]

I am a fan on LD’s works - from AOP to Tethered, I enjoyed & relished LD’s angsty reads. Mind you, I am not one who normally likes love triangle stories, but my adoration for LD’s writing style always lures me in, and I cannot resist. I really tried to like this book, but nothing really appealed to me. Not the hero Alden, who was actually the most likable character and a bit funny, but he was overshadowed by his “assholyiness” features. Noa, the frustrating and annoying heroine was [...]

Mini-Review: (Mis)-Adventures in Romance Audiobooks ContinueI ended up listening to the whole audiobook because I didn't want to go buy the print. I know. There are three narrators listed but the majority of the book is narrated by Samantha Prescott. I would have liked the narration better if it was a bit more mixed than it was. It took a good while for me to get used to Prescott's narration style and by then I was more charmed by the story than her narration. This was a fun story about a musici [...]

I feel I am bias when it comes to LD Davis’s writing, to me her writing never fails, every book I have read written by this wonderful author has me captivated and on edge and at the end of the book exhausted by the emotions I go through while reading.Friction I must admit is nothing short of amazing, the emotion and journey that LD Davis takes you on with these two characters is breathtaking and wonderful. It all starts at a rock concert for a band called Friction, Noa is forced to go by her be [...]

Ms Davis's latest book, Friction, is nothing like you would expect from her if you have read her Accidentally On Purpose books before; it is the first instalment in a totally new series, actually. Of one thing you can rest assured of, though: this book is as well-written as those are, and you'll be carried away as much by Noa and Alden's story as by their crackling chemistry, their clashing personalities and their wonderful HEA.Singer and leader of the Friction band, Alden Breck rescues writer N [...]

Original Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace3.5 StarsFriction was a bit of a fun, sexy read, with a touch of danger, as I met Noa, who happened to get trampled at a concert she didn't want to be at. She loathed the main singer for Friction – Alden Breck. After he rescued her, she bantered with him and it's clear that she couldn't stand him. But after a few encounters and a promise from Alden, they spend more time together and build a strong friendship. In the beginning, I wasn't sure about Alden, [...]

ATTENTIONMAY SPOIL ALERTIt starts good, made me LOL several times, but then, it starts dragging a lot, made me think of those soap operas that start great, then over a week you see all the episodes but nothing really moves forward and then toward the end everything happens at the same time cause they are in a rush to air the new soap opera, and this one just leaves you with an empty and unsatisfied feelingwhich is a shame really, I was expecting more, so excited in the beginning and then I dunno [...]

Genuinely shocked by this book and not in a good way. For 90% this was a 4 star book. But the ending, the last 10% was such a let down that it drops my rating to a 2 star. Noa gets dragged to a rock concert by her friend. She isn't a fan of the band and especially not the cocky, arrogant singer, Alden. At the end of the show she is trampled by his fans and rescued by said rock god. From there she fights to hate him while slowly falling for him. All interesting and enjoyable. She has a bunch of se [...]

Buddy read with NicoleOur LD Davis reading binge that started with her AOP series continues here with Friction. Her writing style just works for us both and we weren't disappointed with Friction. This is a standalone rockstar book and not at all related to her AOP series or spin offs but I must say that I did think on more than one occasion that Alden and Luke could be related given what both of them are packing in their pants!LD Davis is the queen of angst and her skill at writng angst is a tal [...]

This was at best a 3⭐️⭐️⭐️ book for me. I was kind of disappointed. I really loved the accidentally on purpose series. It had good depth, writing, character development and complexity to the story. But this didn't have any of that. I never really connected with Noa or Alden here. She was a bitch from the start and he fell in love with her quickly. I couldn't see why and that bothered me. I like being invested in the story and the characters, but just didn't get there. I also thought [...]

Wow!!! There's a new rockstar in town Alden Breck is arrogant, cocky, gorgeous and very sexy. Noa is a writer with a chequard past when the two meet after Noa is trampled whilst at a concert of Alden's band Friction it is definitely not love at first sight especially on Noa's part but when circumstances lead to them spending lots of time together are things about to change or will Noa's past come back to haunt her.Another fab read from LD Davis can't wait to see what she gives us next.

Awesome read. I love the accidentally on purpose trilogy, tethered is one of my re-read just because Emmet and donya are comfort reading, however friction shows LD Davis is coming into her own. This story is a true love story that focuses on societal issues that plague or times drug abuse, domestic abuse, child abandon ment, social media cons and tv media half truths affecting ones personal life. All this told 1 book . Great job LD Davis.
