Nice lesson in helping others, but I wasn't wild about the illustrations.

Sweet, sweet story of a girl who knits. My daughter and I love this book, and it chokes me up when she knits for others. I hope that my daughter will be like this someday! I know it's just a simple kids book about knitting, but the fact that Nell knits for others, whether for her family or those in need, is a wonderful lesson about charity.

A wonderful story that shows the core of a knitter's philosophy of gift making. A precious child that feels compelled to serve even through ridicule and bullying. My granddaughter loves this tale too!

A brilliant tale of being a bit different, sometimes not understood but greatly appreciated and valued in the end, expressed through a little girl named knitting Nell. If you're little person is feeling different for a gift or hobby they have OR if there's a little person having trouble with others that may be different, this book can offer a different perspective for the latter and encouragement for the first.Simply a lovely story if the above is not an issue.Highly recommend.

This is an extremely charming book about being your own person, doing good in the world, and knitting. The illustrations are wonderful. I just happened upon this book while browsing picture books in the library to read to the girls and of course picked it up as I am a knitting fiend. It is really a little treasure of a book.As it happens, I read this book on the very day that Sabrina (age 10) said to me the words I have been longing to hear - "Would you teach me how to knit?" ; )

This was a very cute story. It's a good lesson about being your self. Nell loves to knit and none of her friends understand why? Nell than shows them how to knit. The picture are awesome! (mixed media)

Nell knits . . . a lot. She knits blankets for new babies, socks and hats and mittens for the children's home, and scarves for everyone in her family. What Nell doesn't do is talk a lot. She listens to her friends chat and laugh, and she knits some more.

Nell is a strong little personality who loves to knit and make things for others despite the snickering of her "friends". My daughter and I both loved this book, not only because we are yarn-worthy women, but because of Nell's kind heart and personal confidence.

What's not to love about a quiet child who knits? The knitting helps Nell discover confidence after she wins a prize for a beautiful sweater. She emerges from her shell a confident young lady who helps her friends learn to knit, too. Simple, sweet, lovely!

This is so cute!! My sister got it for her kids at the library and said that I had to read it. The illustrations are great and I love how she "hoots" for Daisy the sheep.

Cute story about a girl who is bullied and turns to her knitting to help her through. She even enters her work into a contest.

Loved this sweet little book about knitting, doing for others and the slow development of friendship amongst Nell and her friends. The illustrations are delightful too

This was a cute kids book about a quiet girl who uses her skills to bless others. Parts of it didn't make a whole lot of sense though.

I'm learning to knit so I thought it would be fun to read a children's book about knitting.
