4.5 stars! Georgiana Darcy, A Sympathetic and Sensitive HeroineIn her latest release, Shannon Winslow circles back to her debut novel, a Pride and Prejudice sequel titled The Darcys of Pemberely, and retells the story from the perspective of Georgiana Darcy. While we do encounter Georgiana aplenty in The Darcys of Pemberley and witness a little of her first experience of being in love, the story’s main focus is Darcy and Elizabeth and the obstacles they overcome in the first year of marriage. I had to look up when I read The Darcys of Pemberley: November 6, 2014 is the date I posted a review. And since it was some 10 months ago I was not exactly sure I remembered all the details as this book is a parallel telling of the same time period but from Georgiana's POV. (I read something like 150 books per year, so forgive me if I don't remember every detail of every plot.)As I began reading the events fell into place so you would suppose that knowing what was going to happen might lessen my [...]

Shannon Winslow does not fail to impress when she revisits her original Pride and Prejudice sequel, The Darcys of Pemberley, but from a new point of view - Georgiana Darcy's. I really enjoyed this novel. Miss Georgiana Darcy of Pemberley was written to be a companion to the Darcy's of Pemberley, giving us a much closer view of Georgiana's courtship while still intertwining with the time line of the original book. But in my personal opinion, this version far exceeds the other, although not all th [...]

I love anything having to do with Jane Austen. After really getting into Austen's work about a year ago, I have been reading many continuation books. I have to say that I love the writing style and story lines by Shannon Winslow the best. I really feel that I am reading words from Jane Austen herself! When I am reading another author's book on the same subject, I always seem to compare it to Ms. Winslow's work. I have read all of Ms. Winslow's books, so I was really looking forward to reading Mi [...]

This story entails the further romantic adventures of Georgiana Darcy of P&P fame. It was fun to hear Georgiana’s viewpoint and thoughts about emerging into adulthood, and playing with the big girls in the all-important game of Husband Hunting in Regency England. My problem - I guess my 21st century mind has trouble with her secret falling in love with her first cousin, so it just felt awkward reading of Georgiana’s personal quest.I did find other suitors and characters interesting, Mr. [...]

Shannon Winslow has succeeded in re-creating Jane Austen's voice in these "sequels." It's amazing to be able to find out what happened to these beloved characters after the original novel Pride and Prejudice ended. Even though no one could really be a new Jane Austen, Winslow definitely doesn't disappoint Jane's multitude of fans, at least not this one! I thought perhaps this story, a companion to The Darcys of Pemberley, might be too repetitive or redundant, but it wasn't at all. Instead we lea [...]

I loved this book. I also loved her previous book that it pairs with, The Darcys of Pemberley. I have many, many Pride & Prejudice spinoffs and sequels and Shannon Winslow is one of my top two authors for this category. I highly recommend the book.
