2.5 *starsWell, that was different! I am not sure I enjoyed it, but it was entertaining. The story was full of potential, it was a friends to lovers (shark/merman.just go with it.) with a touch of mpreg at the end. It was an interesting twist on the myth of mer-people with a little Olympian gods teaser. I liked Tristan' s discovery of his mate and the reasoning behind Tibs being his spirit guardian. It did however seem to lose focus in a number of places and either meandered off and left me a li [...]

A really solid romance set against a mysterious underground kingdom and a background plot that is only partially explained. The parts of the story that deal with Tristan and his relationships with Tibs, his brother Triton, and his estranged father, are very, very strong. Lila Leigh Hunter’s relationships are fantastically evoked and I thoroughly enjoyed Tristan’s discovery of his mate. Halfway through the story, however, I found myself dissatisfied with the direction it was taking. Three qui [...]

this was a great story that ended too soon for me. I hope that the author write more for this series as I feel the story didn't end with a cliffhanger but still left me wanting to read more of the Adventures of Tristan of Mervnova and Tiberius and the sailor who broke the curse from book 1 and what he needs protection for and why this is the favor that Pieuvre, the protector of the seven seas, is demanding. The love of Tiberius who was trapped in his shark form for 200 years and Tristan is sweet [...]

2,5 stars rounded up to 3 because of "merbabe".Merbabe! Just how cute a word is it! I grinned every time I saw it, and it's now in my top 5 of cutest English words (the first place firmly occupied by "agog" :)).As for the story itself, I think the author is on the right track here, but the writing seriously needs some polish. Especially in emphasizing key points and plot turns. So many times I realized that some important action was taking place two sentences after it began, even (blasphemy!) in [...]

While I liked a lot of things about this story, Sharks do not have scales like a fish,! They have tough skin that is covered by dermal denticles, which are small plates covered with enamel, similar to that found on our teeth.

This was a nice love story, but the characters seemed childish and the setting too complex for me.

Lor is second-in-command, head guard to his people. His leader is referred to the Minister and the humans are unaware of the Minister’s true title. They are ‘aliens’ from a different planet. There main difference is that Lor and his people live on a different(hot) planet, they are magic users and the magic affects their mates differently.Lor finds his mate in the form of an expert martial arts instructor at a human military base. The human male is the adopted son of the Ambassador. Dillon [...]
