3.5 starsThe book description informs us that this tale is inspired by both P&P and Jane Eyre. I found to be much more to the former. There is no crazed wife hidden away in the attic. But on the other hand Darcy has spent years away from his estate traveling the continent for secret reasons. He lets Mrs. Reynolds and Mrs. Annesley make decisions about 10-year-old Georgiana's needs. (Yes, there are 19 years between Mr. Darcy and "his sister".Elizabeth's connection with the Darcy family is par [...]

This started with such a promising premise, and the first part of the book appeared that it would deliver. I am very familiar with both Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice, and the concept of blending the two sounded really interesting. Elizabeth's family is in disarray after her father dies, and she finds herself employed as governess to a younger (age 10) Georgiana in a household where the mysterious master is often away from home. Her first encounter with Darcy echoes that of Jane and Rochester [...]

This novel = Jane Eyre + Pride and prejudice None of the events in P&P occur but rather I'm reading Jane Eyre except the characters are from P&P.Elizabeth becomes governess to Georgiana when her father dies and the estate goes to Collins. Darcy finds himself falling in love with his sister governess but Wickhams lies will make Elizabeth discredit any interest her employer may have in her. Darcy's kisses are viewed as the abuse of a rich man upon his employee or as a mistake - intended fo [...]

The Darcy Governess: A Pride and Prejudice Variation, as inspired by Bronte's Jane EyreLoved this book. After Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre has always been a favorite. Mr. Bennet has died and Lizzy and Jane go to London to live with the Gardiners. Jane stays to help her aunt and uncle with the children, and Lizzy sends out feelers for a job as a governess. One job was at the Darcys. Bumping into Georgiana and Mrs. Annesley on the street a letter is picked up with the Darcy's address. Both Mrs. [...]

BravoDespite the lower rating that I saw I thought this book was quite a lot of fun I was surprised at the twists and turns and the way that she managed to work a little bit of Jane Eyre into it . All in all a good rate I would recommend .

I enjoyed the story as it used characters from one book and the plot of another. The pace was just right.

3.5 starsAs you may have noticed if you've every seen any of my reviews, I read a lot of P & P variations yet, I'd never heard of this and when I saw it, I was thrilled to the moon and back-- P &P mashed up with 'Jane Eyre'?! I *LOVE* both of those stories!!!And you should check it out if you love them too I did really enjoy it.ever, there wasn't as much 'Jane Eyre' as I would have liked, and I also found quite a few spots where editing would have come in handy.
