This is a really neat book; a little chicken thinks he's big enough that he knows-thinks he can do things on his own. But when he gets scared or in trouble he realizes what his mama has told him is true. Also in the back of the book is two pages of 'true' to life facts of real life things of a baby chick for children.

Little chick wants to grow up too fast. The theme of this book is patience. It can be a good book to read to children who are in a hurry to grow up or to very young children about listening to their parents. The pictures are aimed for very young children.

This book aims to teach on patience but I think it expects too much--in my opinion there are too many words per page. Too many to keep the attention of little ones struggling with patience anyways. Themes are: patience and growing up too fast

Little Chick wants to grow up so fast! Don't all our little chicks want to do that? But when he meets an angry rooster he finds out that maybe Mom is right and that he needs to learn patience.
