I read Snow White by Melinda Copper, this is a fairy tale book. The story is about a King and Queen who have a child they name Snow White, after birth, the Queen dies. The King remarries less than a year later. The Queen asks the magic mirror, “Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who in this land is fairest of all?” The mirror answers “You, my Queen, are fairest of all.” Then when Snow White gets to be older, when the Queen asks the mirror the same question, the mirror has a different answer. Awesome illustrations. Loved the idea of Snow White as animals. The evil queen could be nothing other than a cat, perfect. The hunter would obviously be a dog. It just made sense that the 'dwarves' were mice and rats and other small creatures. Fantastic. My only problem was rabbits as the ruling class. Yeah rabbits just don't give off a regal air. Otherwise brilliant idea fabulously executed.

The Snow White message (I'll kill you if you are more beautiful than me but the prince will save you since you're so beautiful) is really a terrible one for young girls, but at least this one had animals instead of people so you didn't have to keep being reminded that only white people are beautiful! And I loved the hissing cat picture that was the Queen when she poisoned Snow White!

Another wonderful spin on the story of Snow White. I adore the illistrations, of the book, and how the illistrator chose a version different then the disney tale.

Reading this to my son is difficult as the vividness of the violent parts seem even worse against the back drop of little innocent rabbits.

This version of Snow White contains awesome illustrations and typically tells the same story as the one we all know, except it's told by animals which really changes the mood of the story.
