4.00 Stars. Aside from creating an alluring storyline with memorable characters, the author did an impressive job of narration. Most stories about swash buckling pirates are interesting but one featuring a black female as the captain of a ship is unique and captivating. A nine year old Adanya Mbwana and her father have been rescued from a slave ship by the crew of The Phantom captained by a nineteen year old Dominic Bold. Adanya's father saved Dominic's life and for several years he was Dominic' [...]

Just started this Erotic Sizzler tonight. I hope to finish it sometime tomorrow. I have read everything by Em Brown and have yet to find one that was not hot and delicious. To start off saying I loved this book was an understatement. Pirate novels are one of my favorite, and good pirate romance novels just about top my list but are somewhat few and far between when historical accuracy is taken into account. I was starting to believe i'd have to write my own. Adanya and Dominic's story was as funny and charming as any star crossed lovers could be. Female pirates are way too underrated and Adanya fit the bill of strong, fearless, and tenacious Captain. But she was al [...]

The back and forth past and present. . . I was not sure that I liked that aspect of this read. Being in the present. Then beng pushed back in the past. It was clear that they wanted each other but damn. What did it take so much for them to get there? Well let me say that was half the fun. Watching them get there.

Adanya Mbwana and Dominic Bold are nothing less than a fierce battle of wills. Dominic even admits to himself that Adanya’s will is the stronger of the two. But none of it matters when it’s obvious Fate already has a plan.I’m not usually a fan of Adanya’s type of female – brusque, unrelenting, even harsh. But, here it’s absolutely perfect. She’s a young woman liberated from cruel captors aboard a slave ship, then becomes a crew member aboard a pirate ship. Her life/world has been n [...]
