APRIL Claitarary Genius book Challenge: Read a biography or memoir.Good Reads 'Reading Without Walls' Challenge #2 Read a book about a topic you don't know much about.Audio version. 2.5 stars. I should disclose I'm a tough sell being I dislike (in general) memoirs &/or biographies. This is a mindless "read".

First, let me start by saying, I hate nonfiction. Most of the time, I find it boring and cannot keep my attention for more than a few seconds before I start rolling my eyes and ultimately putting it down. I can't say that about this book. While yes, it took me a little longer to read because I just didn't have the time or concentration to sit and get it doneI was completely enthralled by this book. I was sucked in from the beginning, and yes, it has some slow parts, but overall I was beyond fasc [...]

This book was very interesting from a sociological and a feminist perspective. Our society tends to draw lines and anything gray is frown upon and yet, if we acted what we preached these professions would not exist. I do like that this isn't one of those "woah is me. my poor defenseless meI need you to feel bad for me" kind of book, the author is very adamant about wanting to enter this profession from the beginning. The moral of the story is basically that everything comes at a price and there [...]

A candid and revealing memoir of life as an escort and Las Vegas Madam.Jami Rodman, aka Haley Heston was a small town girl who was lured by the adventure and glamour of Las Vegas and there slowly builds up her life as an escort. Amids the parties, drugs and her experiences she tell the ins and outs of her life as a sexworker and later Madam in the City of Sin. Her story is both sad and empowering, as she tells her story. The loneliness, the joy, the danger and all the other things you might expe [...]

This is the truth as told by Jami Rodman about her Vegas life as a call girl turned Madam. I found this book interesting, graphic (not too bad), but not exciting. I was intrigued to listen to entire book though. It is as interesting as any biography would be and I liked it as a book. I never realized how much work went into being a call girl (prostitute), nor did I realize just how dangerous and competitive it is. This book is a real eye opener. I also feel this book is a must read by any young [...]

Usually books like this are about "poor me, I was forcedI was druggedI wasn't responsible for my actions" -- this is totally the opposite. Which is what makes it FASCINATING. The author owns itl. And, with a background in psychology and sociology, she brings a richness to what could be tawdry voyerism n't get me wrong. PLENTY of sex. But, also the clear-eyed first-person account of someone who is quite self-aware and is unapologeticeven more, has no "victim" mentality. She is clearly a staunch su [...]

A fascinating tour inside the world of an escort. Haley/Jami took us from the bottom to the top and back to the bottom again. Possibly the most fun book I've read all year, it's filled with sex, drugs, money, with a little weird and creepy thrown in. She shows us how great escort money can be and the temptations that come with it. She held nothing back, even her unfortunate rape incident by strange looking club-goers was included. She explained the different levels of escorts, types of pimps (pop [...]

This book is HOT, HOT, HOT!!!! People keep saying it will make 50 Shades of Grey readers blush, and that is definitely true! This is a true life story of the secret society of escorts told by THE infamous Las Vegas Madam herself (made most popular after hiring Olympian Suzy Favor Hamilton). On top of it being a sexy read, you're going to get insight into the ins and outs of the business, the personalities of the Johns, and the book ends with Jami giving her brilliant opinion on the real issues o [...]

The Las Vegas Madam is an honest look at the escort trade in Sin City. Jami has lived the life of a sex worker from a number of angles, and is not shy about "kissing and telling" certain parts of it. She makes no excuses for her lifestyle and relates events in a matter of fact tone. I actually felt sorry for her being on the other side of the Suzy Favor-Hamilton story and having to deal with the fallout, which she handles without coming across as vindictive or mean. Good read for those who are i [...]

This book started out really interesting and before I knew it, I had blown through half of it. However, around the half way mark, it started to lose its luster, and I started to grow bored with it. It would pick back up in pace, be interesting, especially since this is on the town that I live in! All in all, it was an interesting read about a girl who willingly chose to become an escort and all of how that fell into place.

Don't judge :) I wanted a mindless read and this sounded like it fit the bill. It ended up being very interesting. An insight into a world I am oblivious to. Got a bit graphic at times, but that was expected considering the topic.

I picked it up to read a chapter during lunchd fifteen chapters later, I was still burning through the pages. It's well-written, sexy, shocking, even poignant. A rare, absorbing firsthand look into the underbelly of Las Vegas nightlife--Move over Mr. Grey, indeed!

Interesting book I liked how honest the author was about her experiences, she mentioned the good and the ugly. I recommend this book to any curious minds about the daring girls who choose a gutsy profession

    17. Lindsey Stromberg on said:

Aside from being seriously X rated, the book was sort of all over the place and left without a real ending to her story. If you're looking for really graphic, make you uncomfortable the entire time book then this is for you. If you're looking for more of a story line per-say, this isn't it. It does make you think about Vegas in a whole new light.
