Since it is now Halloween season, I figured to read Halloween stories. This one caught my eye, because of not only Halloween but it has cats in it.Beatrice is the owner of the Cozy Cat Café and loves the Halloween season. She also owns 3 cats; Petunia, Hamish and Lucky (he's the black cat of the bunch). On her way to work one morning, the cats, who travel with her, started yowling in the back seat and Beatrice notices something in the middle of the road. It's a bomb and it explodes before her c [...]

A fun and interesting story. I can only wish my cats would some day be such excellent sleuths.

#4 in the series, though I haven't read any of the others. I don't think my reading experience was adversely impacted by not having read the others. Thought I'd grab something seasonal for Halloween reading, and this was perfect. Beatrice Young is a wanna-be sleuth in her 60s who runs a cafe in New Hampshirewhich is a gorgeous place to be this time of year. When strange things start happening and the local sheriff is overloaded with work, he enlists her help to solve the Halloween capers. (A bit [...]

This is the first book I've read in this series. I felt a little like I was missing out on something by not reading the previous books. But the story was easy enough to follow with cozy little hometown characters (except for the bad guys who cone to light eventually).I'm a cat lover and really enjoyed these very intelligent, cute, sleuthing cats.A light little bedtime mystery concluding that everything always works out in the end. even during Halloween :)

My ReviewVery good read. I love that the cats are so involved in the storyline. I have a Maine Coon Cat named Wylie Cat. I look forward to reading more of Beatrice's mysteries, especially the free ones.

I liked this story about someone putting people’s lives and property in harm’s way during Halloween. It was interesting to follow the clues to find the culprit. I wish that my cats would act like Beatrice’s cats. That would be awesome and so very helpful.

I appear to be bouncing between two different ‘issues’ as I go down my somewhat random reading journey. For a while there I kept reading books starring people ten to twenty years younger than me. Let’s see, the book before the last one I read actually starred people roughly 24 years younger than me. I can mostly get past that, though there are things that can pop up that distract enjoyment. Well, I’ve mostly been able to ‘get past’ that issue with this specific series here. But I thi [...]

Quick, fast, and fun read. Really enjoyed the further adventures of Bee and Matthew solving another pesky problem in their town. I like Alannah's books because they don't always involve a murder but there is always a mystery. I am always amazed at how the three feline sleuths rise to the challenge of helping solve the mystery.

Very Cute StoryThis author is new to me but I loved this story. Quick read, full of action, loved the characters right off the bat, and the cats were just too funny! A mystery with nothing objectionable at all. a rare find indeed!

Fun readI love stories with cats so right away I was hooked. Not only are the cats interesting characters but the people in this story are as well. I liked how the mystery involved the cats and almost all of the town and how everyone was so into Halloween.

Loved itWhat a fun reade character descriptions bring them to life. You feel as though you are part of the small town. The cats seems as though they are alive and you could reach out and pet one. I loved the black one. Must read and enjoy.

Fun book to read. Some things are a bit of back stretch, but I don't mind stretching my imagination. Good time of the year for a Halloween based story.

Meh. Love the cats, but cannot buy into how human-like they are. And the whole mystery wrapped up way too quickly.
