Trapped (Tough Justice #4) by Gail Barrett is a 2016 Harlequin special release. This chapter has some wild mood swings with Lara’s deeply troubled psyche, Nick’s troubled past, and Moretti’s continued mind games, but there is a also a huge break in the case, which added a sense of euphoria to the story. But, don’t get caught up in the celebrations. A battle has been won, but the war is far from over. Another nice installment in this e-series, which I have been enjoying immensely. Remembe [...]

This one really seemed to capture my attention and I finally realized that this serial reminded me of a tv series. One where you are trying to figure out the overall arc, but are presented with a mystery to be solved within the hour oh and get a glimpse of what needs to be solved in the next. I think that is why the change of authors do not bother me and it felt familiar. I feel like I'm binging on a series. :)In this one I really need to know what Moretti is playing. I'm even questioning if he [...]

I really enjoyed this addition to the series. Reading it really reminded me that this series has been written very much like a television series. I was up and down in this one. Lara has some deep issues and then there is Nick's troubled past and well it left me emotionally drained. The one good thing is that there was a major break in the case but then I remember that this was just one small part in the grand scheme of things. I'm certain that Moretti has plenty planned for the future. I will sa [...]

The story continues. Trust is earned and cannot be demanded. But trust is also very much a two way street as our main characters learn. The inevitable relationships develop along with the obvious complexities. Some bad guys are apprehended, but are they enough to crack the case? In my opinion the actual main FBI crime story is taking too long to tell and the balance is sub plot fillers. In relation to the fillers, some aspects are really good. others are at best average. Half way through the set [...]

Lara Grant cannot quit. The battle rages on as she fights to stop the man she helped put behind bars. He delights in taunting her with cryptic messages, and he strikes again, close to home.Though the books in the Tough Justice Series are not long, they are packed with action, and I still keep reading to see what the outcome will be. The budding romance between Lara and her FBI partner also keep me coming back for more.

Another great installment in this 8 part series. Gail Barrett really kept up the pace of Carol Ericson's 3rd installment of this book. Nick is back in the story and Lara and Nick attempt to move past her secrets but may have crossed a line. Lara is still worried about her secret and whether or not the ultimate finale may involve it.

This book carries on the exploits and explosive start from the first book. Excellent read and thoroughly recommended! If going to start on the series - its a must to get them all. I look forward to the next installments of Lara !
