This was a lovely little read spotlighting all of Princess Leia's accomplishments with a nice nod to the prequels. Such a fun read and not even a trace of the infamous metal bikini! I hope they continue with these storybooks.

Picked this up initially out of horror that Disney had turned one of my favorite heroines 'dainty' only to be pleasantly surprised by the abundance of girl-power in this book. I just read it to my 6 and 7 year old nieces tonight who were utterly engrossed in the brief story, exclaiming 'yeah!' at the turn of every page. The messages in this book are exactly what I want my two favorite girls reading. And the art is just wonderful. Very reminiscent of classic Disney Golden Book illustrations.

Ok so my kid is not even one and is more interested in eating books so this is more for me than her but oh man I love it so much. Leia and Carrie Fisher are two of my biggest idols and if my daughter wants to be a princess then she can be one like Leia and that is pretty amazing.

Describes a princess, using active words like strong, brave, take charge, etc. Encourages readers to be a princess like described, active. I like it! Basically says Woman Up!

My children are, unfortunately, so used to the dainty damsel portrayal of a princess that they were uninterested in learning about Princess Leia: a different kind of princess. A better kind, in my opinion. Princess Leia teaches young children what a princess is, how she should behave with valor and selflessness, and how she is a strong example for her subjects to follow. I love how this story takes the reader from the birth of a princess all the way to the ranks of a general in The Force Awakens [...]

I love the fact that this Star Wars Little Golden Book featured Princess Leia. It shows the littlest fan the importance of being a woman in a position of power. It shows that being a princess is an honor and a title that commands respect. Great book for any Star Wars Fan.

I got this as a gift for my sister, who teaches kindergarten, but then I couldn't give it up. Yes, it's a movie tie-in, but I loved the message that a princess is a leader and not just a beautiful doll. Then the actress passed away. I may get another copy for my sister, but this one stays with me.

Super cute book. I just had to buy it, especially after Princess Leia's (Carrie Fisher) untimely death. This is a great book to add to any collection or for any little Princesses out there!!
