I love reading contemporary Amish stories, both full-length novels and Amish novella collections. I’m so glad that Thomas Nelson has started putting these collections together so fans of one Amish author can get to know others as well. An Amish Harvest set in autumn, around the time of harvest. They all involve Amish characters and locales, but the individual stories are very different. They bring in the flavor of their settings as well as the different ‘voices’ of the authors. I really enjoyed this collection of four novellas. Usually in a collection such as this, I find one story feels like a 'weak link' or filler, but this is not the case in An Amish Harvest - all four tales are engaging and well-paced. A perfect book to relax with no matter what the season.Beth Wiseman examines the sensitive topic of domestic abuse in Under the Harvest Moon. I enjoyed seeing young Naomi grow from a cowed wife to confident mom, conquering her superstitious fears, and being ready to [...]

Given a chance to review this book, which just happens to be written by four of my favorite authors, was indeed an honor and a pleasure!! I must admit that any book of Amish Fiction is high on my list of "To Read" titles. Each of these authors has the unique ability to write Amish stories, each with very different characters and unusual topics, yet blending together to make a winning book! All of the stories take place in the time of harvest, in the autumn. One creation just seems to flow into t [...]

I love how they were able to bring four different novella perspectives in harmony in order to have this book.Beth Wiseman brings together the Amish and English world together in Under the Harvest Moon. She is able to show that despite many differences, there are also many similarities. Will Brock and Naomi be able to curb t [...]

I thoroughly enjoyed the progression of this young family's growth in relationship to Brock. Add this to your TBR list! If you are a fan of Amish fiction, An Amish Harvest is a collection of novellas that you won’t want to miss! I really enjoyed these stories. Each and every one of these novellas felt like a full story to me. They were shorter than full length novels, obviously, but each story had characters that felt fully developed and situations that did not feel rushed.I especially enjoyed the romance between the characters in Beth Wiseman’s novella, Under the Harvest Moon. The situation that Naomi finds [...]

The real standout here was Amy Clipston’s novella. It was cute and seemed the most authentically Amish. It’s obvious that a lot of research goes into her books to make them as realistic as possible. You can look at my status updates to find out my ratings of each story. There was a lot of instalove in most of the stories and in several cases I did not think the couples had a connection at all. I’m starting to think that I would like to read a novella collection of just stories by Amy Clips [...]

Under the Harvest Moon:I loved the way that Beth wrote Naomi’s character. Here is a woman who suffered great abuse, however even after her husbands death kept it secret thinking it was her fault. I can only imagine the sigh of relief she breathed after her husbands funeral as she was about to start on the adventure of single parenting.
