Callestick Farm Cornish Dairy Ice Cream - From Cow to Cone!
With the warmer weather approaching, FoodFinder Bites takes a look at one of our favourite parts of summer - ice cream! In particular, the delicious ice creams created by the team at Callestick Farm.
Callestick Farm ice creams are produced on their farm in the Cornish countryside, using milk and cream from the farm's own happy herd of cows. These are combined with the freshest of fruits, quality confectionery and 20 years worth of experience to make premium dairy ice cream with a totally indulgent taste.
As a smaller producer, Callestick Farm have the flexibility to meet their customer's needs. Through continuous development and market research they have created a comprehensive range, gaining the highest recognition for their flagship product, Clotted Cream Vanilla - a truly Cornish cone!
You can find Callestick Farm Cornish Dairy Ice Cream at fine retailers, on all good menus and at events throughout Cornwall, but perhaps the best way to enjoy a Callestick Farm treat is at their ice cream parlour on the farm, where you can watch ice cream being made, relax with an indulgent sundae, and soak up the peace and tranquillity of their picturesque valley location.

The Cornish Crisp Company
It's the Cornish ‘taters' that perfect the flavours!
The first potato crisps to be made in Cornwall are now on sale! The Cornish Crisp Company is a family business based at Kelly Bray near Callington that uses local hands, produce and skills to make high quality crisps.
The company has recently announced that it will donate 1p from every bag of crisps in support of local organisations and charities. Those tucking into a bag of Agitater (salt & vinegar) crisps will be supporting Surfers Against Sewage, 1p from Spectater (salt & black pepper) crisps goes to the Hall for Cornwall and 1p from every bag of Gratertater (cheese & onion) is donated to the Cornwall Community Foundation. The Commontater (ready salted) crisp supports ashes and sparks, a Cornish based organisation seeking to inspire change through ideas and debate.
Sue Wolstenholme, owner of The Cornish Crisp Company, said: ‘Many of our charities and arts organisations in Cornwall are struggling to survive at the moment so we are hoping that we can give them a bit of a boost and raise awareness of their good work through sales of the crisps.'
Crisp lovers will be pleased to know that there are plans to develop further flavours in the near future including Cornish seaweed and Chilli.
The Cornwall Crisp Company is spreading their goods throughout Cornwall in independent retailers including delis, farm shops and events. Visit their website at: www.thecornishcrisp.co.uk
